Barbara Chenault Impressionistic Interpretations

Barbara Chenault was raised in the Michigan countryside.  Her early experiences gave her an appreciation for rural life and the beauty of nature.  Although Barbara has always had an interest in the arts, it was not until her family was raised that she had a chance to pursue her love of painting.  A move to the picturesque island of Bermuda gave her the opportunity to take up painting seriously.  Returning to the United States, Barbara has settled on oils as her medium of choice.  She continually strives to improve by taking workshops taught by her favorite nationally acclaimed artists.  Plein air painting (painting outdoors on location) is her passion--whether it is local or the distant landscape of Europe.  Her use of color and variety of subject matter make her work unique.  Barbara's appreciative eye finds the intrique and drama of a scene and translates it into treasured works of art.
